In the fifth episode, Ivy’s Jewish landlords burn down their own building for insurance and called it “Jewish lightning.”
The antisemitic caricatures of Penguin and his family, and of Sy Borgman and his wife, are reminiscent of Julius Streicher’s work in Der Stürmer
A reminder that there were no major works prior to this that characterized Cobblepot as Jewish. They made a character Jewish just to make him the subject of antisemitism.

Don’t forget how the show actually removed Harley’s Jewish heritage (which was present in all her previous incarnations) just for this series, and then immediately put these jokes in. It’s very obvious and deliberate, and taints the whole series for us.

Just once I wanna see someone on TV with a COOL wheelchair. It’s always those plain black short term hospital style chairs, give me someone with souped up smartdrive and custom flame-shaped clothing guards. Show me a character who’s got a mobility scooter with underglow and string lights. Someone who’s plastered their crutches with stickers. I’ve seen so many cool mobility aids in real life, imagine what a TV show or movie with a good budget and a costume designer could do if they weren’t too lazy to care.
Have you even lived if you’ve never had an abled person ablesplain how wheelchairs work to you.
How could I, an actual wheelchair user, possibly know more about my access needs than an abled man.
Abled men: A giant ego with legs attached and zero listening skills.
Like just imagine the ego it takes for a person with zero experience to go up to an expert and “explain” to them everything they’re “doing wrong.”

My favourite is when they tell me all about why they’re so expensive, that pressure care isn’t important, hospital chairs and expensive custom chairs are same thing. There is no possible way a wheelchair user knows things about wheelchairs, that what our doctors are for! /s
